new spot by nike golf, premiered yesterday and will continue airing today on both espn and the golf channel… stay classy, nike.

NDP: What’s the theme of the pattern?
Goto: It’s a wood grain pattern inspired by ranches and all of the buildings throughout Texas and in Dallas. The creative direction behind the graphics is Benny Montoya from Apparel, and in Basketball, Michael Spoljaric helped out with direction. We came up with the whole Texas western theme, and then that continues with the sockliner with the patches. On the wood grain, you’ll actually see some stars integrated into the pattern, which is a cool, subtle hit towards All-Star.
Rogers: All of the graphic hits on the panels are 3M, too.

NDP: And the insole-stitched patch—is that specific to each Conference or each player?
Goto: For all of the Western Conference ones, it has a pattern of stars that represent the number of times that the Western All Stars have won the game. For the East and West there’s a different type base for the way they’re written.
Rogers: Erick also wanted the patch to look like it was branded, like a cow.
Goto: Everything on the outside looks super modern, and then on the inside you have a nice little touch of Dallas.

NDP: The laces are all waxed?
Goto: Yeah, the laces are all waxed, and even the material of the laces, like on the Hyperize, it’s got that rubbery finish, and we thought that was a cool, new material that we haven’t used yet.

I think this should be filed as evidence that Eric Wareheim and LaDainian Tomlinson are brothers from different mothers. Go Bolts!

for those who didn’t know, i am ahh sweet dude’s resident filipino. if any of y’all caught the fight on saturday, i’m sure you would agree that it was nothing short of amazing. i never really followed boxing but the intrigue of the whole pacman following got to be so big that i was eventually roped in to catching a couple of his fights and after seeing him in action, it’s easy to see why some deem him as one of the greatest fighters of ALL TIME.

anyways, i watched the fight over at a co-worker’s and i have to say that it was definitely an exciting time. cotto and manny went back and forth for the first two rounds, but after landing a knockdown in both the third and fourth, things were going in pacman’s favor. i think they should have called the match around the 9th, but cotto kept fighting and was stopped 55 seconds into round 12.

with this win, manny sets a world record of holding 7 different titles in 7 different weight divisions, the only record of its kind. amazing.

can’t wait to see pacquiao-mayweather. congrats manny!
