one of the events leading up to the world basketball festival was the make something! workshop, where children from the local communities were given a chance to participate in art workshops and try their hand at designing some custom kicks.

one of the creations that came out of this event was the ultimate brand mash-up: a nike x jordan brand x converse hybrid model. taking some cues from the hyperdunk 2010, you can see the jordan influence in the form of a jumpman logo on the top strap, with a little converse hit on the back heel.

looking like something more along the lines of what you’d see from MaZe over at Kix and the City, nike product managers shawn baravetto and tony gaiotti drop the info on next year’s lineup. some dope stuff in there, including the all black dunk mid with gum bottom and white swoosh, and omar salazar’s signature shoe (particularly the black and purple colorway). interesting use of what looks like flywire on the back heel part… two-tone tre a.d. black and silver with the white accents, dope. the reversible bomber jacket is especially sick with the red color blocking on the sleeves.

here we have the classic dunk silhouette using a monotone canvas upper sitting on top of a vulcanized mid and outsole. looks pretty sweet to me, i’m really digging the canvas material and it’s a clean and simple colorway that’s not too loud. the AC stands for autoclave, which most sneakerheads know as vulcanization.

both the black and grey colorways will be available at select tier zero locations on or around september 5th so keep an eye out.

was just browsing on the homie dekk’s twitter and heard about this movie. admittedly i don’t watch much tv so i haven’t seen any trailers or hype for this, i musta been sleeping. off top, can’t even remember the last time i saw a flick at the theater. anyways, the preview looks sick and going off of wiki, looks like peter jackson is involved!  everything’s a go.

i like the spin on how we get invaded by aliens but then we take them in and keep them in slum-like conditions. peep the short film that this movie is based on down below:

gotta fast forward to about 3:17 when he actually starts rocking to “wu-tang clan ain’t nuthing ta fuck wit” but it’s all good cause you got nancy sinatra’s “bang bang” playing beforehand to get the crowd hype, which most people will know from the opening scenes of kill bill 1.  i’ve never seen the wu live and they are on my list of acts to see before i die, i just hope that i get a chance to see a majority of the group onstage performing triumph. fiyaaaaaaaaaaaah!
